I never really know how to feel about shit like this where a person's personality or conscience isn't changed by character development but an outside force like a skill or some other deus ex machina. It feels like a bit of a cop out that a writer took to move the story to where they want or to have the character start doing something else without having to actually do any development. I don't think I mind it as much in this case as the amount of time she's been a spider and the shit she's had to go through, as well as then burning her home down twice and threatening her (and the first killing being an accident) but I still think "oh I guess I don't have a conscience anymore, thanks to X skill" is a little...lame. You could easily have her overcome her conscience due to everything she's done and feel bad about the accidental deaths too.
