I think it was different in the LN.
There Kumoko only fished the water drakes using her web. She never touched the water until Ariel splattered her.
I mean, water is good and everything, but how about lava? I mean she could let them get near her and drop a little bit into them. I don't know if it will melt the material, but it will surely burn the threads that connect the pieces
I'm pretty sure in the Web Novel the puppets are not nearly as much of a threat as they are here.
If I recall correctly, they get introduced in much lower numbers and the MC just avoids them with teleportation until a specific plan is completed and the plot moves on to the next big development.
@Aeder That might have been one of the differences the light novel brought along I guess? It's easy to see why an editor might have suggested a change like this if that's how it occurred as well. This whole story has sort of been a series of "oh shit, gotta survive" events. The original version of the puppets sounds more like an inconvenience than imminent mortal peril.
@SirArez she's not immune to lava and merely has a heat resistance IIRC. she's still not sure of her level of immortality at the moment either so it's too risky. water is also much safer.
@anggitoz
Drifting on the surface or moving with telekinesis isn't the same as swimming. Spiders have very bad affinity with both fire and water/ice, so acquiring anything related to those is either very hard or cost a lot of points. I think it was explained in the manga somewhere in 10~20ish chapters.
This whole labyrinth shit really do be taking such a long time. I was so excited when she finally escaped but then the problems from the labyrinth followed her out to the surface like fucking hell.
I would assume spiders would naturally have some sort of bonus in water manipulation. Since they have an exoskeleton, spiders don’t have muscles to extend their limbs. Instead, they pump their blood to make a sort of hydraulic system. It’s why spider corpses will have the limbs curled up.
@Kneel_Breen
Not according to the system in that world. And anyway, it's really not about the water itself (since drakes and such have the skill to swim in lava), but about acquiring proficiency to get the skill, which you apparently can get only by swimming underwater (or lava). And spiders can't do that easily.
soo hmm thanks to the Interlude with the DemonKing Round table we Know that in the Future only 10 of these things exist ...
soo lets see who is theone that is going to die
