Also, please don't talk about my mother under any circumstances, not even as a joke.

I just feel too protective of her and my family, so compliments are also a no.

I would've edited the names but I felt like leaving them was better.

Grey, cold, foggy, the ground is like walking on a wet memory foam mattress. ☹
Not looking forward to work tomorrow because the lot will be a ankle deep mud bog. 😖

It got colder and we got sleet. Also I got a flat tire. Unrelated, of course.

I'm from New Zealand. Here is my weather story:

Yesterday the weather was beautiful throughout the whole day. The temperature was like an ordinary late summer's day, just as it should be.

Then suddenly at 19:00 we are given the news by the prime minister that 3 new COVID-19 cases have been identified outside of our quarantine facilities in Auckland, and that they are of the UK strand of the virus. Auckland moved to level 3, while the rest of the country moved to level 2. This (hopefully) won't go over the initial 3 days the prime minister enforced these new restrictions.

Anyway, today has been raining literally all day all across the country. Rain is my favourite weather, especially when it's really strong, but I thought it was all bit ironic since this came just so fast. Perhaps this weather is foreshadowing bad things to come...

Pray for our survival. Just got power back after 2 fucking hours. Everyones pipes are frozen, the roads aint even plowed/salted. Everyone flooding to the single Mcdonalds that's still open for some reason and fucking up the roads even further bc Texans can't drive to begin with, let alone in unplowed snow filled roads.

This shit never woulda happened in the midwest 😥

"I once profoundly stated 'get rekt,'
In California, snow he did not trekt,
To you in Texas, you shan't forget,
Your hurricanes shall cometh yet."

lel, good luck with your hurricanes once the snow stops.

that is a lie that is quite offensive to my people. No, the Midwest isn't just an empty wasteland. I'll have you know there is actually a lot of corn and cows, thank you. Matter of fact, it's all corn and cows.

Edit, this post made me lose power again goddammit. RIP my 4G/phone bill.

Seriously, there is nothing but cows and corn. You can go hundreds of miles and see nothing but corn, soybeans, wheat, and livestock.

There's the occasional small town in those parts, ~150 residents, but almost all of the US's population is found on both coasts and the south.
Most of the continental US is just semi undeveloped wilderness, by legal definition.

Got over a foot of snow in a blizzard. Welcome to the midwest, where the summers are hot and the winters are cold

@gomichandesu I gather some information on what went wrong, but it turns out to be the failing of the state’s power grid and how the Texan officials refusal to follow federal regulations. Is it true?

Idk, haven't been able to follow what's been going on because no power for more than half the day lol. But that does sound about right for Texas so I wouldn't be shocked lol
We're all about "stikin it to da gubmint" even if it means sticking it up our own asses in the process.

My grandparents are from Iowa, which is the midwest's official nursing home. I remember visiting once and my grandma was like "I'm gonna take you kids to the mall!" and we were like, oh cool mall! and she proceeded to take us to the super walmart.

>Iowa
>America’s nursing home
That title belongs to Florida. Iowa’s just another agricultural shithole, like California.

>mall
>was actually a walmart
I wouldn’t blame her. Walmarts are enormous (mini mall size out in the country) and keeps Smalltown America afloat.
