Wow... it's like I was looking at an Otome Game setup with all these men, except instead of capture targets they're all villains scheming to kill the heroine...
So Ophelia ended up becoming Queen Regnant through succession. She was however in a politically precarious position and was at the very least at risk of becoming sidelined as a figurehead, surrounded by these ambitious men around her. But the worst happened, she was assassinated.
Hmm, so David is a king consort aside from holding the official position of Protector? He's scum, though. Falling in love with him was a mistake of youthful naivety, and he probably cheated on her all the time anyway. That was a good slap. She should just divorce him.
