Been a minute so details are hazy, but I remember there being a moment he has to make an unannounced visit to his mysterious girl's house, and our glorious idiot MC just Mr. Magoos his way through the fact that his friend/girl-he's-always-loved is by all appearances squatting alone in a run-down, unfurnished apartment that may not have its utilities turned on. No questions asked, least of all "Hey, um... you ok?" I frisbeed the iPad into the nearby sofa and never came back to it. There were probably many other four-word questions that would have also completely resolved its plot. Just like this one.

Why exactly is he a piece of shit? He’s in love with someone who is taken but gives him very weird messages so he can’t get over her. The fact that he doesn’t bang someone who has a boyfriend gives him multiple points in my score sheet!

What is your point? Reading the comments, most everyone is aware by now. They are engaging with the story and the dogshit exactly the same as with e.g. kanokari BECAUSE it is like that.

In the next chapter, MC chases Shizuku, but she just run away from him and tell him to not chase after her because she is tired of waiting for him and even if they get together there's no point because se doesn't have "anything" to offer to him now, hinting that she is no longer virgin. Yeah, this is going to be 100% a BSS/NTR manga from now, it doesn't surprise me, the artist is 100% a cuckold. And he surely loves being one.

To answer why the MC is bad. He goes on night time dates with girls he knows are in love with him, but doesn't like as more than friends, and he's doing this stuff with multiple girls. That's not friendship, that's torture, and if a girl character was doing that shit people would be calling her a gaslighting pos in the comments.
