I haven't even joined the discord group, does it make me the top of the table?

That’s a lot of power and it could melt the cable unless it’s thick enough.
Why would you have that cable the entire way, though? You'd most likely have the same thing as with a USB cord, as in a transformer on the plug or close to it, and after that you don't need anything thicker than a USB cord.

The other part is called agreeing.

I love Gift of the Magi!
However, sad to learn that the story will end with Kaoru burning to death in a terrible electrical fire as a form of tragic irony foreshadowed by the previously seen death flags.

Because that's the only possible solution they'd have based on the context of my original post, which was a reply to the following post:
Did not they have, like, an usb charger with a long enough cable?
Notice how I wrote:
They'd still need a long enough USB cable, because where else is the stand going to take power from?

So if the USB cable is too short, and if the power cord is a no go, what else do you suggest they could hypothetically use with that stand?

Does that clear up your misunderstanding?

Why would they be using a power cord? Because if not with a USB cable (as that is allegedly too short) how else would they power that stand with? This part is called "context".
There are plenty of devices that use thinner power cords than the one you were describing as if it was the only other option. That's what I was reacting to, and you have not responded to that yet, despite attempting several times.

Does that clear up your misunderstanding now?

"as if it was the only other option" is a rather disingenuous claim, considering my exact words were, and I quote: "how else would they power that stand with?", which you only answered the second time I asked.

But thank you for reminding me of the dark age of proprietary cables and chargers. The misunderstanding is cleared up now. Fun fact: while using a proprietary charger doesn't require a thicker cable, it still makes the stand more expensive even when compared to including a USB charger and cable instead. The reason for that is called "economy of scales". With so many people manufacturing USB chargers and cables in such high quantities, their prices are naturally lower than if you had to manufacture a proprietary charger and cable in the small quantities at which you are selling your stand.

And it's still a weird solution for the cable length problem, since there's no guarantee the included cable (if any) is any longer than the USB cable they already have.

I'm still of the opinion that the problem is with the phone's USB port being blocked by whatever surface it is on, and the stand is meant to remedy this by increasing the phone's height.

It's not disingenuous if it's a natural conclusion to what you said, and you also said "Because that's the only possible solution...."

On the other hand, it's rather disingenuous to edit your posts and claim I didn't answer something I did. You'll note that if you search that exact phrase you quoted, the first mention of it is in my post where I quoted you, and I answered that in the very same post. So "second time" is wrong. Furthermore, that was a clarification of what I said before, so I had already answered it.

I’m flattered that you think of me as a higher being whose memory encompasses all of reality, rather than a mere flawed human with a flawed memory. Unfortunately, that’s all I am: a flawed human with a flawed memory.

“Because that's the only possible solution” was referring to running a power cable the entire way to the device, not about which cable to run. Whether you use a USB cable, a power cord, or a proprietary charger with cable, you have to run the cable all the way to the device anyway. It’s not like we can transfer power over the air just yet. At least the technology hasn’t made its way to the average consumer quite yet. I mean, sure, you could also just use an extension power cord and have 2 cables act as 1 longer one, but then why bother with the stand?

On the other hand, it's rather disingenuous to edit your posts and claim I didn't answer something I did.
If you’re referring to the fact that I edited my post after you posted your response, my bad. You just happened to post your response while I was still editing mine. By the time I realized what happened, it was already too late.

As for my claim that you didn’t answer something, I’m sorry, but no matter how many times I reread your earlier posts, I do not see anything even remotely resembling an answer. Even now that I know you were alluding to proprietary chargers, all I see is you asking questions and expecting me to reach some conclusion. That is not what I call “answering something”.

You'll note that if you search that exact phrase you quoted, the first mention of it is in my post where I quoted you, and I answered that in the very same post. So "second time" is wrong. Furthermore, that was a clarification of what I said before, so I had already answered it.
To each their own. You think you had answered my question, I think you hadn’t. Let’s move on, shall we?

Wow. People are discussing about power cables. And here I am wondering, when I saw "payday". Like, "Wait, did I miss a chapter and they timeskipped to the future when they're already married and are both working adults?" before remembering that they started working part-time a few chapters ago.

You know. I am at edge with this series as they raise a death flag or something and we still don't see anything coming. And the year is almost up too.
So absolutely nothing is going to happen! :02:
I mean, we're at that point in every romance Manga. Either it ends when they kiss and it has like one after chapter of them being happy, or we get this, where it's 50 chapters of them going "hehe I love you". I'm not sure what else is supposed to happen at this point, them having sex? Are they gonna get married once they graduate? Like what more needs to be done lol

At least they're short chapters, and I can always rely on some good memes from Moe and friends at the end of the day.
