Also they’re still minors in school uniforms on a 3 hour long trip past school start time, ain’t no way you’re going to school, it’s understandable to at least inquire what you’re doing.

I suppose in East Asia it might be normal to ask. Not as much individual-centric culture there. I wasn't referring to communiting, though. Just travelling to some other town/city for whatever reason.

I have seen in enough manga how students like to stick to their uniform that I doubt it really plays a role. You'd probably assume they are on their way to some school club related competion or whatever.
