Yeah is weird, but it is common in some cultures (still weird, and thankfully less common) but sometimes is common. I don't know about Japan though

Its an Indian custom too., So its most probably a predominant Asian custom(?). I don't know whether its worth congratulating for as I am not a woman but I can say its a sigh of relief as most parenty worry if their daughter hasn't gotten a period for some reason.

She's constantly trying to turn her daughter against her father, her friends, control her and her father. She's going on this long diatribe about how much men suck and putting that into her daughter's head (thankfully her daughter is also more fucking intelligent than her own mother and is unlikely to buy into that dogshit) that men are the enemy and whatnot.

She's damaged mentally. She genuinely needs help. A healthy and reasonable parent does not do this shit with their children.
