- Also, why use "Mom" as translation when "Mama" is used in raw?
The usage of "Mama" is supposed to be a pun related to the short name of the game "MaMaFan".

I have seen this common trend of translators (fan or official), translating Mama (said such in Japanese) as Mom for whatever reason.
It's not like Mama is a foreign word, it's a universal word in many languages including English for mother, unlike Mom or Mother which is English language specific.

I think the words "step mother" and "mother-in-law" mean the same in Japanese. The context being that she's your mother bound by law or something? I'm not entirely sure but I've seen it be used in other translations too
