But "Shy non-intimate" MC's are still highly popular especially in the Anime community and female viewers as they consider it cute.

From what I have understood, female readers/viewers still prefer reading/watching,

• "shy non-intimate" type as boyfriend for non-physical romance
• "hot looking" type to show off and some physical interaction
• "rough aggressive gangster" type for bed activities

Gojo wears traditional clothing and Marin wears very modern styles. Gojo is both horny and embarrassed at the same time. Marin is both horny and shameless at the same time. This is the obvious setup of the entire manga. You are reading chapters that are the payoff of this obvious setup. It's basically a manzai formula.
