If you think about it, since the appeal minute is an obligatory part of the whole competition, this detail about acting like a man should be obvious, but it's also quite realistic regular high school students wouldn't necessarily think about it. If it was an arts high school with special theater/drama education, then for sure, but none of that exists in that ordinary high school.

I did keep that in mind (I myself felt like I needed it this the entire year), but repetition ground it to non-amusing results for my reading experience
