@Merilirem Even the most stupid adventurer should realize that being surrounded is bad. Those that don't, get killed before reaching a decent rank unless they're exceptionally lucky or talented. But then again the city guard is missing in action and the author most likely didn't do any research about siege warfare (or even use common sense placing ranged units on the wall), so another inconsistency wouldn't be surprising.
As for the bad guy, I'll admit I have already forgotten pretty much everything that has nothing to do with Mear. This story is one of those that goes in from one ear and out of the other. Now that you mention it, there was someone trying to force that girl with black hair to be his. I guess it was the lord lol.
