You see, you assume Cross wouldn't notice how different MC's stats are. Which he probably would've, and then he wouldn't go for a direct confrontation, and then he would just terrorize the world through guerrilla tactics/would pick the party apart through other means. And before you go "oh but he had to make sure the BBEG wouldn't escape!", come on. If he'd just drank it somewhere at all in the earlier chapters, maybe a little after all the commotion about him being a reincarnator had died down, we wouldn't even have had the last several chapters. MC would've recovered from "Level-up Sickness" (which is so ridiculously contrived it's funny), found him again, oneshot him, and GGEZ. There's "Could've Avoided This!" Plot, and then there's this. Pretty much ALL the story beats, arc for arc, could've been avoided if the MC and/or the author thought about it for a little longer than a few minutes.
Now this is a fair point, but I can see an explanation:this story is SO FUCKING DUMB. didn't he mention before that he was having trouble leveling up since he was a reincarnator? So we can prob assume that he needs more exp than average to lvl up, so how the fuck can he just pull a flat 30k xp from his pocket and level up normally, like everyone else? Thank GOD this shit is almost over
Only real justification I could come up with is that even with the level/stat increase MC thought he couldn't win. Not fast enough before the level up sickness catches up to him at least. But even then he could've done that way ahead of time though he was missing villain guy's status before, so...He could have leveled up at any time, but only now after the majority of the side characters died for nothing did he do it.
Who's the REAL villain here?
He went Super Saiyan, Kurosu went full torn masked Hollow, and Raul thinks he's Buggy the Clown. The author has thrown in all of the old Big Three manga's tropes into this.HE WENT SUPER SAIYAN?? this is so dumb but i kinda still love it
