My advice to people is to just buy an emulation console. I have a Retroid Pocket 5, which can play pretty much any game from PS2, Gamecube, and below. Plus, Wii, and some Switch. Sure, it's digital too, but it's free, and you're not supporting crappy companies.

There are more expensive consoles too, if you want to play more modern games.

I have all of my old consoles in great condition from Atari and NES straight up to current, so I still have a lifetime of games to play.

I'm probably going to be investing in a Retron 5 next change I get, just so I have something that can play all of my old cartridge games in one package instead of fighting with AV cables and a HDMI up-converter.

Other than that, I'll be grabbing some of the last games that are going to printed for the PS5 before they kill it and then be done with Sony as a whole.

I'll be getting some good use out of the ROG Ally that I bought a while back for a bunch of emulation and will also start getting more games on GOG instead of Steam when I can because I can still share the DRM free installer with my family after I get it.

Right now I'm trying to track down a Switch version of Trails in the Sky 1st because I'm not going to be able to finish the trilogy on PS5 since the third game isn't going to be out before 2028.

The thing that actually bothers me a lot, is the thought of the local game store that I've been going to for my entire fucking life (yes, it's been there and been open that long) closing down because of shit like this. They deal in a bunch of retro gaming, merch, board games and card games, but I don't know if that would keep them afloat......

It's bullshit that corpos can do shit like this and get away with it scotfree. But apparently, it's also gonna cause some problems for them on the reselling scene. Some people are also saying that since physical game copies are not being made anymore, shouldn't digital games cost less?

i Actually don't mind much, because i mostly play digital nowadays, even if i still have lot of physical games.

I even think the public could accept it (even after ppl would be mad), but the timing of the news was absolutely the worst they could choose.

I will still get a ps6 day 1.

Well, Sony has now gone full retard (never go full retard). You will now have to pay a subscription to access the crunchyroll store.

"In response to a request for comments by Polygon, Crunchyroll further explained that the decision was inspired by community feedback and by observing what gets collectors and anime fans most excited."

Who the fuck is drinking up all the stupid juice at the top levels? Better yet, is there some delusional ceo convincing an ai to do this because its a "good idea"?

CEO - "Let's make the store exclusive to people who pay the absurd entry fee, that'll bump up our sales!"
AI - "That is a great idea, and will absolutely contribute to your store rocking the world of business. Do you want me to explain how or do you want to put that idea to work?"

Nah. Games would cost 80$ or more now & they would try to convince you that we should buy it because they put all the effort & resources into making the game even though the game is just slop.

Ah, just remembering how a normal edition in the past came with a proper manual (with lore, instructions and pictures) and sometimes with posters... for me, they can just burn.
