Actually, his second hand gesture was interesting for me. I had never before bent my fingers into that form, so I had to try it.

Starting to like this. The protag is quite likeable since he's so enamoured with his craft and willing to learn. I can also sympathised with his fascination for the female form.

That panel of Rei with the streams of lights in the dusty study was gorgeous.

We got some hints of plot. The 'witch' might be this Amami, not Rei at all, despite the likeness

Interesting proposal by Rei-sensei, I believe she did it both because hands are very expressive with all the different nuances they convey with the great range of motion and variety of poses they have, and because it justifies the small canvas that would be a little gentler on the need for supplies, and also because it is something completely different from what she saw he painted in the room at the Amami household, so it'll maybe be a new obstacle and reality check for him, while also having the potential to be a new spark of curiosity for him.

I can't say anything about painting hands, but drawing them, that can be both a hellish pain in the ass but also extremely fun and interesting. It's no wonder Kohei Horikoshi loves to draw them and uses one as his icon on shonen jump.

Also, I wonder if he'll with a clenched hand, showing his frustration, or maybe the hand bashing a invisible table (I doubt it, he's too nice), or go for something unexpected like the hand spilling out of the canvas as if trying to grab something outside. I'm really curious to what each of them cooked up.

When I was a child, you’ve heard of Leonardo da Vinci’s Mona Lisa, right? When I saw that painting in an art book, when I first saw her hands, folded by her knee, I don’t know how to put it. Um... this is a bit crude, but… I got a boner.

He seems to be pretty good at capturing the beauty of the human figure if he is given opportunity to glimpse it. Whether that is "interesting" enough to win... I have no idea whether it will be Rei's complete victory, or she intended to model for him the whole time, she introduces him to another model, option 4, could go any way.

The challenge thrown at the end of the previous chapter seemed a bit dubious considering her qualifications. Like boxing a baby. Now it's beyond weird how much trouble she's going through, how much time she's spending, just to shut him down. Is there a second outcome of the challenge (if he loses) that we (he ?) haven't heard about ? What's in it for her ?

I'm a bit curious about what were the honorifics discussed. "Beloved big sister Rei" ? Did she ask an unrelated kid she barely knows (met him on the day before right ?) to call her Rei onee-chan ? And "Milady Rei" ? Rei-sama ?

Rei Onee-sama and Rei Ojou-sama I gotta admit, I didn't spend a day thinking about how to translate these two, I just went with the first thing that came to mind.
