Many Thanks for the new chapter, @princess_daphie .
The start of the chapter had me confused for a moment; I think there should have been an extra panel of Haro turning around before showing him picking his gear off of the easel.

I get the impression, with this chapter, that Haro excels in working with and capturing subjects in their "natural" state & setting rather than in formal "Studio" settings, as shown with his work on the Iyobi nude model and the illustration of Mayu from Chapters 2-3. He will need to get accustomed to working in Studio settings (classroom and personal) because that's what he will be working in when he does get to the art university.

It was neat to see Haro get quickly accustomed to working with charcoal, which seemingly bodes well for him working with other unfamiliar mediums. It was also a bit hilarious to see Kazari be the one to take Haro seriously as a rival, as a matter of the cliche of the prodigy being threatened by the "lowly plebeian" artist.

Seeing as how Haro is going with Garan-dou to develop his portfolio under, it looks like he's looking to apprenticeship under Garan-dou's elderly owner and it's through him we will get to learn Rei Kamio's background, as she was his previous apprentice/disciple.

This manga makes me feel weird being an art student that went through extreme examination. It kinda overly romantic the “artistic” normal people tend to think of artist, while in real life if you can’t not follow the rules (aka draw the model before your eyes in the examination) then you out, no exception. There’s no time to admire the so called ‘artiststic’ mind, it’s a war zone where people speak with raw skill on each pencil stroke
We must always remember that even if the manga tries to be realistic, it is only fiction, most of the time what is showed there is just an idealistic vision of reality

Most of the time, yeah. Still, there are manga with the same theme that can potray it way more realistic and truly represents what is it about, I’d recommend “Blue Period” as an exemple of this.

Mate it’s a chinese basketweaving cartoon, learn to separate the art from the artist and stop huffing your own farts so much
You're confusing your own practice of huffing your mother's flatulence with the behaviors of others.

Look, I understand that this is fiction and the story has to give some leeway to the MC to show how skilled he is, but irl if someone did what this dude pulled off here, they'd be totally banned from ever step into that drawing studio again.

Attempting to touch the model, walking off the room while the session is still on and she's naked, drawing her in a pose she did not consent outside of the place dedicated for modeling are beyond breach of etiquette, it's plainly insulting towards the model and the other drawers who are giving the chance to be there despite not even wanting to formally join them.

And, before those gross breaches, the MC intruded into the personal space of another artist as he was working; not so bad as what was to come, but part of a pattern of an author trying to legitimize inappropriate behaviors.

Edgyboy uses "edge"

Protag uses "I don't give a fuck"

It's like "I don't think about you" meme.

Those two didn't spoke the same language from beginning to the end.
I wonder if Shiki even comprehend the difference between technique and expression.
They kept pointing that his drawings are like "photographs" and this is something impressive, sure, but Haro is on a journey of self-expression. I imagine that eventually Shiki will come to the same realization and embark on the same journey.
