@goodhunter @cjyniz I think compared to the stuff that I've seen real life kids come up with, this kid is barely anything. He's not the type of character that I see very often in manga, either. If he exists only for us to hate him, then the author succeeded.
If you want to make a manga dark, well, it needs to have some sort of tragedy. Of course, bully, rape and murder are the go-to devices to use. Getting raped or getting killed, male or female, old or young, as long as an even like that causes the story to be darker, the author will do that.
In these works of fiction, the authors are free to create whatever characters however they want as they see fit, since they don't have to worry about legal consequences. You're most likely going to see sexualized female characters in boys' manga and sexualized male characters in girls' manga. Hell, even manga for boys or girls can have sexy characters of either gender. Who's to say you aren't allowed to like a sexualized character of the same sex? If they are young, that's because the target audience is teenagers of similar age. If you're reading a manga intended for teenagers, you might not like it as much. Some of the characters might have brother/sister complex, and they are usually used for gags or jokes. It's not the type of humor everyone will be into. We all like different things.
The bottom line here is that if people are sensitive about what they see, then they need to do more research on what they read. If you see something with an ecchi/loli/shouta/incest/whatever tag, you know what you're going to get. It's probably not a good indicator to use some manga to judge Japanese society. Incest porn was once the number one trend on pornhub, doesn't mean our society encourages actual incestual relationships.
But anyway, this is too much for a simple stupid character.
