now that i think about it, annoying childhood friend might actually be helpful. think about it: tamaki only appeared for a short while this chapter. the irritation due to shrimp girl is keeping manaki from being too happy, thus allowing her to actually spend time as herself with kouya

Honestly I found the "annoying childhood friend" a little refreshing and actually kinda funny pretty much solely because they're already dating and that ending panel following that reveal was hilarious. Like she backed off quick and then actually showed shame. Plus it changed the subject from a very VERY weird and sus starting conversation.
