Honestly the old woman's description of parents using words to curse their kids like that all around the world is on point. It's obviously more supernatural in her case, but even without supernatural power, the amount of power words alone can create is horrific and disturbing.

I know right! I love that part, because it's so "on the nose" just like @4V29LN0n said, but nevertheless I totally wouldn't have thought about it that way before she explicitly said it. It's just like in the last chapter when Takoha compared what Shiragi was doing to what Souboutei does. After hearing that, you're like "daamn, that's so on the nose" in the best way lol
