This plan seems to require kiting the shit out of your solitary prey. I dunno how they'll do that with a herd of mammoths. I guess that's the suspenseful part.

I had hoped for an atlatl solution tho. It's one of the best candidates for how cavemen killed mammoths. Surprisingly (or unsurprisingly), we're still not sure how humans hunted mammoths.

if by 'world' you mean planet earth, then there's difference. but otherwise altering timeline like that have potential of producing a very different world. you know there's a figure of speech that we live in very different world compared to century ago and such.
