Damn.Nah, judging how her memory from that time is fuzzy, my guess is on "That's acctually the way it happened in first place." My guess is on their own party destroying the artifact themselves, on instruction of future Frieren without telling past Frieren about it. And maybe even past Frieren deleting her own memories after arriving back from the future. Or it's being done by the stone automatically or by a timedelayed spell by future Frieren on herself to hit past Frieren.
The acctual fun question is, what happened in the timeperiod she can't remember?
There are the oracle (about the future of demon kin) from one of the demon great sage too and it seems very closely related to Frieren journey. Either she manage to annihilate them for real, or maybe far in the future Frieren will found a way for demon to live in peace.Frieren maybe not for the beginning
but surely she's the Mage of the End
this, and your Yokohama pfp, seems like you are a man of cultureIt blows me away when every chapter feels just as impactful as the last; the feeling of a deep world, earnest feelings, and the passing of time remain ever poignant, and the authors never let us forget. Even in the well trodden story line of time travel I feel as though these glimpses of Frieren's adventure are so precious.
And as always it is so incredibly badass to see the strange abilities of the demons, the magical arms race between the humanoid races and the demons, and the horror of the casual inhumanity of the demons, every word a lie, a tool meant to deal death just as surely as their magic.
And of course the catharsis of the heroes winning, and them being such true friends that they know what's up without Frieren saying a word. This chapter brings a whole new viewpoint to all the early chapters too, which makes it all the more impactful. It's very likely they did indeed carry this secret to their graves, without even telling Frieren herself. Brings a tear to my eye.
She does though? She says so in ch.107:If she actually is in the past, begs the question why she doesn't remember having a gap in knowledge or something about this time period.
Furthermore, your memory after examining the monument becomes a blur. It feels like a week's worth of memories fading away.
