Thinking about the demon skill to create an illusion of inner dream for its individual target, I am curious why there is Frieren in Himmel dream. How are their illusions connected?! This could mean their bonds are very very deep. I have a slight hope that Frieren, deep down in her heart, has a love for Himmel. The demon would have notice this. Troublesome...
It's only my speculation, but perhaps it's because in this case Himmel and Frieren's desires involve each other, so the dreams combined.

We know Himmel's been in love with her forever, his dream is to marry her, pretty obvious.

Frieren regrets that she never got to know him better in the 10 years they spent together, she's on this whole journey to understand humans more and possibly meet him again in Aureole. In a way the dream is like, what if they never parted ways after defeating the demon king and they could spend the rest of their lives (or his life I guess) together.

Himmel is gradually proven as the best Hero and leader.

He knows the priority and quickly adapt to all situation. Bonus, he always enjoy every second of life.

Himmel is not Hero, Himmel is KING

For someone who dies at the beginning, Himmel keeps becoming more of a chad. Fucking owned a great demon WHILE living inside in illusion AND resisting the urge to indulge with Frieren. What a guy.

Okay... I'm hoping that the thing Lolitar will learn from Grausam is how she's going to die in the future and how to cast a version of Grausam's illusion. That way she might actually survive the fight and we'll have at least one loli demon princess around a bit longer. We can't have Aura, but I'll settle for Lolitar.

So what are the effects of this incident?
I think the hero party already knew about this incident and chose to keep it a secret from the past frieren, as their promised to the future(present) frieren.
And the reason why solitar already recognized frieren in the el dorado arc
And the wild theory, is that rivale who attacked Stark's hometown(warrior village) were looking for the great warrior Eisen?
IMO

She already knew Frieren before this fight. She talked about Frieren in front of the monument like she'd known her for a while, which makes sense. Solitar is the information gathering expert who's also the only demon who practices permanent mana suppression. She'd probably been shadowing the hero party or gathering info on them from other demons.

After finishing the latest anime chapter, these two latest episodes become absolute kino.
I wonder if the author was plotting this all along.

End of series prediction: Frieren finds the Goddess monument again and goes back in time to the fifty years between the Hero Party's return and the reunion to watch the meteor shower and goes full on Avengers: Endgame Cap ending with Himmel.

as opposed to linie and the two male demons? i guess.. but frieren and fern? doubt. also I wonder if they have a character popularity contest in the anime since not a whole lot of characters are introduced yet but in manga, aura is completely btfo'd by hero of the south which has the same amount or even lesser screentime than her. only westoids adore her and knowing westoids, they will latch onto Solitar(one of my best girl) the second she is introduced.

I'm going to guess Grausam learned of his death, and will fake it happening in order to be in the current time line. The worst case (as a story) I can think of is if the Author has him use her knowledge of her journey to also take Stark or Fern's place in her party... but demons in this world don't seem like they could keep up that level of acting for months/years.

Possibly other Great Demons' past deaths could be faked as well. Would end up as a bit of Wheel of Time deal in that case, where most of the big bad guys ended up coming back in the later books. Which wasn't really my favorite plot twist. Not sure they are the type that could 'disappear' from the world if they were still around though...

Man not even for a moment did we get to see those two get the ending they deserved.

Also Fern making sure Stark isn't carrying Frieren + sitting on the axe instead of being carried directly :dogkek:

Just went back to check with chapter 63 and it's worrisome, to say the least. Frieren claims that only 2 sages of destruction managed to survive them and the hero of the south. However, given we saw Aura and Macht (which I suppose she was referring to back then) and those guys speak like the confrontation with the hero of the south was in the past at this point (which it should be) and only refer to Schlacht as deceased, that leaves us with quite some discrepancy, meaning there are likely three sages of destruction still alive.
With that information, we end up with: Macht, Aura, Böse and Grausam being defeated up until now.
From the looks of it, Rivale most likely eradicated Stark's hometown/-village leaving us with him, Tod and another unknown (?) sage still being alive.
That's three sages possibly plotting something together, with some insight into the future. The fact that both Stark and Fern are orphans might correlate with this too...

surprised no one is making a fuss over grausam surviving this fight? my understanding is that they thought they killed him here.
Frieren of the past has memories of destroying two seven sages (presumably Bose and Grausam), if destroying Grausam or Solitar right there could lead to the future being changed and Frieren not being able to return to the future.

You must clearly distinguish between the Seven Sages and the Great Devil. Exactly at the present time, the seven sages have been completely destroyed. The three seven sages were destroyed by the Southern Hero, the remaining four seven sages include: Bose, Grausam, Aura, Macht. Hero's party defeated two sages, Bose and Grausam. Frieren's party destroyed Aura and Macht. The other Great Demons are just generals but their power is no less than that of the seven sages. Other generals such as: Solitar, Qual, Tod, Rivale... are not among the seven sages, they all have their own titles.
