Did somebody else point out the way they talk among the party members and about themselves? They use third person even when they're talking directly, and they use "probably" about their own impressions and feelings.

That's just the way Japanese is. Pronouns aren't used nearly as much as in English or other Western languages, so you end up with people repeatedly using someone's name when talking about them, when in English you'd just use "you", or "she", or whatever. Like when Stark is talking to Fern about Fern in this chapter.

Some translators will automatically swap in the appropriate pronouns when they translate it, so that it reads better to an English ear, but not all do. It may not even cross their mind to do so. For a lot of scanlators, English isn't their first language, after all.

That's very helpful, thank you. So it's because of the translation. It bugs me they don't translate to their own language though, why would they do that?

I hope they do, and I'm not even into feet. Madhouse's foot focus in the first season was clearly done with certain "men of culture" in mind, but people do absentmindedly do stuff with their feet. It makes the animation feel more real.
