I think i great plot point for yuri would be maybe his boss making him under go psychotherapy to disengage his co-dependecy from Yor, he’s clearly got a unhealthy obession with Yor which is probably affecting his social life, who has a Shrine of their sibling

He picks Loid as his Therapist like Melinda trying to find “dirt” on him because of his unhealthy obession with Yor but comes away with a new outlook maybe Forgers aren’t these boogymen who wanna steal Yor from him, she’s clearly happy now.

-instead goes back to chapters that dont really progress the story in any way
i like slice of life as much as the next guy but i think its past time we move the plot forward a bit.

SpyxFamily is by far the most popular manga on Jump Plus and routinely tops manga sales charts. Forget the mangaka, why would the editor ever allow for the plot to pick up at this point? Ride that gravy train as much as possible.

I don't disagree, but gotta say as far as this obsession shrine cliché goes, this looks very tame, especially considering how in the deep end his behaviour is.

Hell, it's not uncommon for normal real-life people to have few family pics on a wall too, although likely spread over a few different people. Admittedly Yuri only has Yor for family though.


Anyhow, great chapter. Yuri has been (and still is) a large kid, and it's going to be interesting to see his further development.

As for Yor, I suppose she's been that way to a degree since childhood taking care of Yuri, but that's some solid mom energy right there, worrying about what her family might need when asked about what she wants

I remember when Yuri was first mentioned, that over the phone he seemed out of touch with his sister. And with his physical debut, it seems that he fully protests his sister's marriage.
This doesn't fully address that gap, but this chapter definitely answers some parts. It's a nice touch to see Yor's life before the Forgers.

That is the wierdest part the manga tries to kind of "forget".

Like you can reason out Yor to be killing "bad guys" as a profession, or Loyd being JamesBondy but lil bro is actually in the gestapo.

Yuri continues to be (arguably) 2nd worst, behind Desmond.

I just can’t find anything to like about Yuri, the little jackboot fascist. If I’m going to be honest, the author doesn’t handle this part of the story well, and it’s impossible to not show how he feels about certain political views. I’ve gotten those vibes throughout the story and, frankly, it’s kinda ugly.
