@MangaRogue dude, he is 26yo (about double the age you may have). At that age you should give zero fucks about what others do with their lives while they arent criminals.

They say that people with prejudices are the ones who get more triggered when others judge them. Is that true?

@Tearsax As I said, if it doesn't bother you, you do you. But as for me and my house, hell no. I wouldn't want a porn star to be my stepmother. I wouldn't marry a porn star. That's my prerogative. If you have no problem with your stepmom being a porn star, that's all you buddy. And, in case your wondering, I'm actually older than the main character and closer in age to his stepmom than he is. Doesn't really affect my feelings on the subject.

That being said, I agree with you that the way she treats her stepson is stupid and disturbing, getting past the fact that she's a porn star. She desperately wants the guy to treat her like she's his real mom and like two or three decades older than him. He's a grown ass man, and it appears she only married his father a few months ago. He is way to old to ever think of her as a mother figure and if she wasn't married to his father, he probably would be hitting on her at the bar, if he ever left his house. They are basically peers, and she's treating him like a child. It's like "Lady, he's is never going to see you as his mother, or even his stepmother. Your just the woman his dad married. He's a grown ass man. Stop walking around his house in your lingerie and treat him like the man he is."

@MangaRogue I've read a few other series with this setting: the dad marrying someone close to his son's age, i even read one where he actually married his son's classmate LOL, and in almost all of them there is one of the characters that emphasize the fact that the son should treat her as his new mom, but man, in this series there is WAY TOO emphasis on that matter.
I dunno if having to treat your stepmom in a certain way is an asian thingy or the authors just try to put extra weight on their family relationship to emphasize on the immorality of their relationship, but in this case this author is doing it in a way that looks extremely stupid.

@Tearsax Well there is a heavy deference given towards elders and older family members in Asian societies in general, so that is true. Asian societies are very traditional, so the son would be expected to afford the stepmom with the same respect he would give his own mother. However, this is changing in more modern societies like Japan, and the situations these types of stories present are definitely outside the norm. I think these stories just want to emphasize the whole "he's cucking his dad" aspect, even while they make sure the stepmom in question is not that much older than the main character, both because that means they can be hot, and to make the dad look like an old creep chasing younger tail so you don't feel as bad for him. I remember this one manga, which I for the life of me can't remember the name of right now, where the Father, who is portrayed as a right asshole, married his son's goddamn girlfriend, who chose the Father over the son, and said father promptly starts treating her like shit, just like he treats his son. Can't remember the title, but its a work about a guy who takes care of an alien girl, who the dad wants to kidnap and hurt too, because he's just that much of a dick and wants to make his son's life miserable.

@Tearsax No that's the manga I'm talking about. Pretty sure I mentioned the main character taking care of an "alien girl" in my initial comment.

@Tearsax Most of what I'm talking about only came to a head near the end of the manga. If you didn't read all the way to the end, or haven't read it in a while, you may be lost on a lot of the specifics. To put it succinctly, Ikuhara Takeya, the protagonist, dated his now current stepmom, Harumi. Harumi left the protagonist for his asshole dad, Takezou, who basically abandons his family on a whim for years, and only shows up in their lives to wreak havoc, and the last time he showed up in Takeya's life was to essentially cuck his own son. Harumi is all but said to have regretted marrying the bastard. Takezou shows up towards the end of the manga, where its revealed that he is part of a lab where he is "studying" (read torturing) the DearS alien girls for no other reason than because he can. Takezou then basically gets his own son arrested on false charges, even having the cops knock him out, so that he can get him out of the way, kidnaps Ren, the DearS girl that was staying with Takeya, and takes her back to his lab to try and shoot her off into space to die in some scatterbrained attempt to save the world (which wouldn't have even worked). So he basically tries to cuck his son a second time.

EDIT: wait a moment, checking the last volume i have ended the manga, it just that everything you said didnt click at all in my mind.
He never dated her, tho? If you check when she first appears, the MC has a flashback about them when they met and he was still a kid while she was young adult woman.
Also, he says that if the situation would have been different, they could have fallen in love. Thats not what you say to someone who was your girlfriend.
And i dont think their relationship would be as good as you see in the manga if she cheated on him with his father xDDDDDDDD

@Tearsax Maybe you are mixing Harumi up with a different character. There are two women that are prominent in the main character's life outside the alien chick: there's Neneko who was his childhood friend who laments that she couldn't get together with the protagonist because she has a crush on him, and then there is Harumi, who is the stepmom. Neneko is his landlady and childhood friend who wears glasses. Neneko herself actually talks about the situation between Harumi and the male lead while tearing into him with a huge rant to get him to go save Ren from his father.

I remember his ugly childhood friend and no, im not talking about her. As i said, i checked the last volume even reading some chapters because i was like "i could swear i've read this series but i have no idea what he is talking about" and the chapter where the stepmom appears its pretty clear that they never were into any kind of relationship. Just check chapter 42 page 17, where they are talking and he remembers when they met. He was so much of a kid back then that she had to bend to greet him LOL https://mangadex.org/chapter/296667/17

@Tearsax No they dated. As I said, Neneko, the childhood friend, herself brings up how the stepmom dated the main character, then broke up with him and got with the father. Keep looking for Neneko rant to the main character. The page you pointed out never says that they didn't date. Its not like romances between people of vastly different ages have never happened.
