So it's one sided? Or is it a misinterpretation on my part?

Ok, so, I think that I've been alone for way too much time now and I don't really get communication anymore.

I didn't understand a thing on this chapter, do they have feelings for each other? Are there not feelings between this two? They are but they aren't romantic?

Feeling are way too weird and complicated for a loner like me to understand anymore.

Shimizu is full on gay about Maekawa, she's in love, she wants to be her GF, she wants everything that comes with that package. Meanwhile, Maekawa is pent up, frustrated and SUPER LONELY, to the point that she just wants to fuck Shimizu to relieve some of her stress because, well, she's into her? But not really into her too too much? But I mean she wouldn't mind at all if they were sex-friends? Then again it would totally be weird so she will make do with being with her as much as possible because it eases her loneliness?

This is essentially what Shimizu catches onto, that Maekawa isn't in love with her, she just wants to fuck, to put it in crude terms, which is something that Shimizu herself may WANT to do, but not like that. Not with someone that doesn't love her back. And that's the point, Maekawa still ain't in love, but she's getting there, give her some time... and Shimizu is and is fully committed to go through with her feelings (As of this chapter)... but only if Maekawa actually takes her seriously and loves her back though, because fuck "pity sex" sessions with your crush, it will NEVER go good for you. Ever. PERIOD.

@Tromend heey thanks for the explanation, it does clarify a lot!

Then again, feelings are still way too weird and complex for me.

The way I see it, Makoto is a lonely individual who happens to be gay. Maekawa is her first real friend in a long time, but Makoto respects that she is not gay.

Maekawa is a lonely individual who happens to be straight. Makoto is her first real friend in a long time, and and possibly the closest friend she's ever had, with whom she can share all the parts of her life that she typically keeps secret.

Maekawa's emotions are becoming confused, she's not sure if her intimate feelings for Makoto are platonic or romantic.

Makoto would rather keep her closest friend, rather than risk losing her for the sake of love, which she has long since given up on.
Edit: @Tromend can apparently type 5x faster than I can.

You'd need a road map to navigate these two, they're both so afraid yet so fixated on each other. Something is gonna give at some point, either Shimizu's low self esteem or Maekawa's mass of issues . Shimizu did take a pretty big step forward in this chapter so it might all come from her in the end. Maekawa is so messed up in her head though, she needs all the help she can get. For what it's worth, I think she totally feels something for Shimizu but her fear of losing someone else important in her life is just crippling her emotionally.

It's because they want to so bad that they can't. Because they feel this will change their relationship on a fundamental level and both of them are NOT ready for that.

Look, I'm as thirsty as anyone else for these two to actually get something going, but I've seen where that leads (both in fiction and RL) and trust me, if you're not into HEAVY AF drama you don't want it to go down that route. We're talking Soap Opera focused on making the MCs suffer level of Heavy Drama.

Sometimes these two annoy me so much! I just want them to get on with it already. Lol.

This was overall a nice chapter...but I’m still baffled by the conclusion they reached — how is being codependent any healthier than before?

Also bothered about how fast the extremely closeted girl came out of denial, immediately identified her problems and then said “no homo for you tho”

I guess that’s just manga-logic.

Loneliness is a strong force. Be there for each other. But don't do anything that breaks what you have.

Maybe I missed something. Maybe I forgot something. I don't see where the "Maekawa wants sex" idea comes from. It seemed to me like Maekawa just wanted Shimizu to stay around because she needs some sort of human connection. In chapter 8, she says, "Well, I don't need the kind of relationship that ends because I'm cold..." She's afraid of being left but unwilling to change herself. I think she feels that she can use Shimizu's feelings for her to sort of bind Shimizu to her. Given Shimizu had gone so far to deny her feelings, finding an alternative to Maekawa would be difficult. Maekawa recognizes that this and is taking advantage. This is, honestly, abusive and unhealthy for both of them.
...but I think that actual feelings may have started growing in Maekawa that she is unaware of(for example the panel after Shimizu says, "you aren't into me that way, right?" based on the background. She has to think about it and still comes up with an answer that is basically, "God, I hope not".)
