Aiya...if that forced kiss wasn't the extent of the sexual violence tag idk if I'm sticking with this, the amount of foreshadowing that things are going to escalate is already insane 😭
I really like the two leads, especially Marie's worldview. It's obviously a feature of her background, and it's really fascinating to see how it's shaped her and I can totally see how a walking doormat would piss someone like her off. I really think their dynamic is going to be an enjoyable read, I just can't shake the feeling that another shoe is about to drop.
Aside from the character work and the dark-ass plot lurking in the shadows, there really isn't much to say yet. It's too early to guess if SA is going to make an actual an prominent appearance, or if the general angst is going to be turned up to 11 the whole time, but my fingers are crossed that neither is the case. It would be a shame to waste the potential of the leads on gratuitous misery porn

I thought the trend of hurting girls and calling it yuri because of some panels ended years ago... but I guess male artists don't see it that way. Well, another series of male abuse claiming to be something else.
Edit: it's funny to see how many were offended because I criticised this series, I guess they take things personally and are intolerant to other's POV. Probably none of them read proper yuri series, they're just here for the edgy take.

I see, I see how it is, the Princess girl got her freedom or something taken in the past and now she's overcompensating for it by being extra determined and hardworking (though it seems she is naturally talented as well) to manifest her own will and is very prideful.
But now enter the Gloomy girl, who is her opposite and does whatever she's asked of, and has extremely low self-worth.
Marie is upset that someone forced her to do something, for sure, but the main conflict for her is that she hates what Aki does to herself, since she sees her old self within her, well, that is my early conjecture anyway, it seems there is also someone in the background, perhaps still controling/obsessed with Marie and badly enough, ryona

I mean this very clearly is setting up the main relationship of the series to be between these two girls, which y'know, is yuri. I guess they could go another way but so far that's what things look to be headed for.
I guess readers are in for a surprise next chapter lol.
Also man, I just discovered this series like yesterday, thank you for picking it up. And it seems the artstyle changes a bit compares to their last series (the one with bite fetish), probably to match the atmosphere.

thank you for the chapter, that's several shades of toxicity right there y'all though I like to think they will eventually put those inste shots in a photo album just so after they eventually adopt a shelter dog they can show everyone how they began being just gals being pals. Though I will say this in just the first chapter and a handful of pages they already made more progress then Hitomi and Kanna have in 10 chapters in another series I'm following.

Did you not see the opening page? It's obvious the guy did some type of abuse to her, sexual or not. Don't be shocked if it's revealed it included sexual assault too.

This has the potential to be very graphic and triggering. Not for me tbh.
Hope they both end up happy and get some therapy, and that the psycho dude on the flashbacks (and probably the one torturing/watching someone get tortured) ends up in jail. The backstory would be 10x worse if he’s her actual father — which the way he says she’s “his product” heavily implies.
Anyways, since I fear the s*xual vi*lence might involve gross men doing terrible things to girls multiple times (including r-wording) and/or it being mentioned/implied a lot, not something like Marie forcing herself on Aki ONCE (or the other way around), I’ll take my leave.
If only it were something that happened in the past and the reason why MC is the way she is, I’d be ok with it, but with that last page I am not so sure this will be a story about her doing some fucked up stuff because of her past and then overcoming it. This gives me trauma p0rn vibes instead of tackling serious stuff in flashbacks for some complex storytelling.
