This is some great tension. I want to see more flirting yes, and the plot has enough pain, but I really want to see the couple problem-solving, and I really want to see the loose ends weave something new.

This doesn't feel like an ending... More like some tone and genre shift back to the start after a volume-worth of fluff to lower our guard.
