I don't know how Japan looks at self defense. But i'm at least a little confident they'd get off with a smack on the wrist here in the States, depending on where the manager's death occurs.

You make a very good point. desecrating a corpse would probably outweigh the self defense claims, and covering up his death would net them an obstruction charge
