Ok, so, this is essentially where they confirm their feelings for each other, so the subsequent official confession is sort of just a formality, and I get that. But I still can't believe this motherfucker managed to stall yet another chapter. Like, holy shit, Mie realized they both like each other over half the manga ago. Also, this is just personal preference, but I kinda like it better when the confession comes as a surprise to the other party (and even better yet, the readers). It's sort of unsatisfying when he's obsesses over the timing of the confession for 30 chapters and then it ends up in this vague meandering resolution. I want a confession with more oomph.

Every once in a while I come back to re-read this chapter. It might even be my favourite single chapter from any manga ever.

Kaede's emotional repression symbolized by the water faucet, the parental love from his mother, Mie's present being what Kaede refused to get for himself on his birthday to save up for Mie. It's just so... PEAK!

Most manga exist so that they can end with a confession. I would go as far to say that this manga exists just for this one chapter. And it's one where they don't even confess!
There is a very real anger coming from Kaede in this chapter, directed at himself. Despite not showing his anger outwardly, it is an anger strong enough that it takes the love of both his mother and Mie to overcome it.

This and chapter 84 of Dangers in My Heart are ones that I come back to regularly.
