I really really hope they actually start dating. This has had significant progress that would be invalidated if it did a Takagi-san (which circumnavigated their lack of progress with the timeskipped manga), plus having started from a seemingly short-legged premise we are approaching saturation for imaginative examples of romantic bad eyesight. Plus I really think overt romantic interactions from both characters would be a great read.
