After stumbling back on this, I gotta ask. Judging by the first few chapters, this is the most idiotic portrayal of a glasses wearer I've ever seen. Yet it's one of the highest rated manga on the website. Does it get good? Or are people stupid?

There's being inaccurate and there's being insulting. Out of the glasses wearers that have given this manga a chance, I'm squarely in the insulted camp, however small it is.
So, does it get better? Does it go anywhere beyond constant "haha this girl is literally blind and stupid without glasses"? I wouldn't be so baffled if it wasn't rated this high.

It does have inconsistencies which a lot of anime watchers mentioned too , personally it did not bother me that much (and yes i do wear glasses irl) and tbf some moments were relatable, does it get better ? imo yes it does especially after you get past chapter 50 i think , it is quite a calm and chill manga without much drama in it compared to something like the dangers in my heart or horimiya (yes i do like these too , a lot)

responding to this too XD , since i was surprised when i saw it the first time

(this is just a personal opinion here)
this manga feel to me like a monthly does of sugar (as of rn) , what i like about is that :
1- it does not have any of the horny cliches we see most of the time in mangas this genre
2- it's just adorable asf it is just that simple , trying to think of how logical the events are would just ruin the joy of it and you know how mangas this genre are like
3- i loved the build up for the confession a lot
4- this is very subjective , but i like the art style a lot especially in recent chapters

Judging by what you describe, I won't find something worth having my always-online logical part of the brain screaming about all the glasses cringe, so I'll read something else. i quite liked the story ,since it does have both dark and super wholesome moments , however it is one of those mangas with 1-3 page per chapter but that did not bother me the slightest
