I really don’t understand how this has such a high rating nor why so many people in the comments romanticise the relationship that the main characters have. If you’re just here for the art or for the smut then good for you, please enjoy, however, for any of the younger viewers reading this, just a little reminder that these types of stories absolutely should not be romanticised. The man is disgustingly possessive and manipulative. He doesn’t care about what the main character wants, only taking care of her so that she sates his desires, using her naivety and cold upbringing to make her believe that they’re in love. The girl is also problematic. Just because he showed her some amounts of affection and attention, she’s instantly love struck. This is not what healthy love looks like. I’ve scrolled through some of the comments and notice comments from younger viewers justifying the actions of the ML (saying he’s kind and he doesn’t deserve the hate). Older viewers are able to easily understand that these relationship dynamics are toxic and, sure, they’re free to read whatever they want, I don’t mind reading some problematic smut myself. But, seeing as there are actual readers here who don’t seem to understand the toxicity of their relationship, I think it’s also good that there are people in the comments willing to explain how it’s not healthy.

This a very segmented piece of story. People who are here mostly purposely read for this or even search for this kind of story. If you recommended it to general audience, then the rating would be lower, I think, because they didn't know what to expect. But yeah, thanks for the warning.

The art is gorgeous and the premise sounded good to me but then they threw any development they couldve had as character or as a couple out the window and now its just full of him raping her. Yes, raping. She wants none of this and half the time is confused as to whats happening cause she was taken when she was 7 and no one taught her anything. If he took the time to allow her to go to him herself or even take the big red flag of how she presents herself to him and backed off it would be fine, but he doesnt. He acknowledges that its terrible how she seems to be trained for the previous sultan, but just rapes her while she cries and wishes for torture or even death instead. What a beautiful relationship am I right? I can’t even enjoy it as smut cause she looks so miserable all the time. I just want her to escape, but then he said he would go on a murdering spree if she left so there goes that idea. I have no clue how they could build up from this, this is literally the worst. Her feeling any kind of arousal during the fact is NOT her enjoying it and she says as much that she doesn't want to and tells him to stop. Now I’m pretty used to manga having the fl saying no during sex cause that's apparently hot to them, but this was different. She was scared, clueless, and actively rejecting him, even trying to run away during the sex and he just tells her to stop running and to be more submissive when shes basically a heartbroken lamb already. Here is why this type of rape is deemed acceptable to society most times, and you may not like how I am about to explain this but meh.

Now let's put this in adult perspective where now we have political and religious views heavily added to the mix along with people trying not to step on other people toes. It doesnt matter if the person acts like they need help so long as they are surrounded by things/people that make them better off than those who are jealous of their position it will be accepted and even envied.

It won't matter how much she may or may not want it, people who envies her will say she can adjust. In her set religious and political environment can justify anything that is happening here. People like us who view her cannot say anything that she won't/cannot say herself without putting ourself in a peculiar position. Also if you didnt have the power to say anything or the means to do anything what could you do?

Also we must take into account that this is a work of fiction depicting such events. Also some people are walking through life wanting to be helpless dolls surrounded by woes and riches that somehow lands them to being a empress over everyone by doing absolutely nothing but being pretty.

Case and point out current climate is a diplomatic one that is improving the way of life for many who want the improvements. Though for some they wish they can travel back in time and somehow end up in the "best" possible position that is only for one woman. 🤷‍♀️

If the victim wants to do something about it or if she wants to adapt she is the only one in the position to do so.
