I must have missed something important at some point, because I still don't understand why she didn't bail on this place as soon as she had the chance. Even if she can't trust Klein, it seems like using him long enough to escape would be safer than being anywhere near this psycho prince who could murder her on a whim at pretty much any time, not to mention a marked improvement on her stress levels. Maybe she's just that confident in her foreknowledge of the plot, I don't know. Just feels contrived to me at this point.

Why is Yurgel so weird (past and obsession):

Yurgel always has been a jerk, if anything he is by far the most vile character in the series. Since he is actually some sort of super old magic wielder with a old aged and ugly body using magic to look super young and beautiful, hence his obsession with beauty.

Relationship between Yurgel and the King:

The king is the reincarnation of his past lover ages ago, that knows everything and is cooperating with Yurgel willingly for his schemes.

Talking about schemes:

Yurgel use charm magic to make all surrounding men, even straight ones, fall hopelessly in love with him (the king is the only one legit loving the creep).

And the worst scheme was that the King forced the queen to sleep with Yurgel (who she abhor) so that she would birth a younger body for Yurgel to possess, that would look like his original body. However the rune that was supposed to tear the baby soul apart (because he needed the body to be without a soul to possess it) malfunctioned and caused the MC to replace the Ash's by pure chance. Hence why the king and Yurgel were so pissed after the baby was born (because they found out he still had a soul).

About the ending:

For anyone wondering about their ending, they get exposed, the Emperor above the king has both the King and Yurgel executed for what they did and tried to do. Michael still lives on as the young new king (with a bit of a crush on girls similar to the MC). The Queen pass away peacefully, while on good term with her son, as her health decline (bittersweet end for her as she find her peace, but end up passing away early still).
