I'm really surprised by the huge DEAD message where Homura was, which leaves little doubt that she died, instead of there being some chance the return stone was triggered.

If Homura nearly died, Ayano can take some lessons and adjust to be safer.

But now? Homura died but I doubt she will remain dead. So Ayano, a gamer, will uncover a way to make death irrelevant for her companions and Homura will learn that death is not the end. That's dangerous.

I would say reckless instead.
Can you blame her though?

• She's sent into a world as a baby, and her own kind throws her away to die.
• She has to crawl around as a baby with limited resources and kill monsters to level up.
• Once in a human town, she learns that elves and beastmen have no rights and are fair game to slave traders.
• The divine being who brought her in this world tells her that an apocalyptic event will occur.
• The divine being additionally tells her that there are considerably less players who have accepted to come to this world than are needed to successfully tackle the apocalyptic event (around a fifth of what was needed).

Despite the hopeless situation, she has kept a positive outlook and decided to use her knowledge gained as a gamer (when death was irrelevant) in order to progress as fast as possible. We'll probably keep seeing her use strategies that flirt with death because she was never given the time to implement safer strategies.

Even here, it's not like Ayano doesn't immediately realise that Homura needs breaks but she trusted her with the decision to actually take them. When she sees that Homura is visibly mentally drained yet still continues, she does try to stop her (and fails as Homura sees the end of her plight in sight and wants to get it over with). She was reconsidering how achievable her strategy was when considering Homura's limits, so I would say that she's very responsible as a party leader.

Even with all the precautions in the world, you can't anticipate everything. With hindsight, she might have been able to handle things better and not rush Homura as much, but maybe not.
