Short chapter or not, it's nice seeing everyone accepting Rin's cooking, that's what these cozy stories are all about man.

to be fair to our caucasian friends, their veggies is actually on another level.

i'm south east asian. once i visited my cousin in Australia(Perth), and i tried their vegetables raw(red peppers, onions, things like that) and no joke the sweetness level is of the chart. i actually understood then and there why people say green pepper is for cooking, red and yellow is for salad(i tried red and yellow in my country, and there's very little difference. in fact the flavour is still predominantly bitter.)

then i tried making hot and sour soup with the local vegetables(mainly green cabbage with some others). and it's like i dumped sugar into the soup, making it weird. still tasty, but it's just off.

for my souvenir back home i actually bought some more red peppers. they're expensive too. about 10 AUD for a big one. about 12-13cm tall and 9-10cm wide.

that being said, it's only the case for the land down under, which actually have agriculture as one of their major industry. i have no idea about the US and europe situations.

Well this is BS. Decided to try and help and I innocently thought, "Well if the chapter isn't free anymore then I'll just buy it then. Clearly if it's not free anymore then you just need to pay?" That makes too much sense, right!?

Kadokawa be like, "Sorry, if the chapter expires nobody gets to read it!"

First step of confusion is that if you go to BookWalker, Kobo, or other JP eBook stores, and try to buy individual chapters, for some reason they use different chapter numbering, where each part is a whole number. So Chapter 1.1 is 1, and 1.2 is 2, etc. Then you see chapter 27 is the latest chapter they list. I finally found a way to preview the chapters, and turns out chapter 27 is just the equivalent of around chapter 14, which is the end of volume 3.

So where's the rest of the chapters?

Nowhere!

I checked comic apps like Niconico Comics, and they all are missing chapters 15, 16, and 17. They go straight from chapter 14 to chapter 18. You literally can't read those chapters legally in JP right now as far as I can tell.

I'm guessing they're gonna release compiled volume 4 soon, but taking the chapters down while you're doing that is so stupid. Do they hate money? Screw readers, am I right?

"Whoops, you missed reading chapter 17 when it was free? Well sucks to be you! Guess you'll have to wait for whenever we decide to put it for sale! Oh, but if you wait too long, 18 won't be free anymore either!"


PS: Sorry for the rant, I thought it'd be something simple I could do before bed and ended up getting really frustrated while sleep deprived.

Funnily enough, I'm (ethnically) Chinese and my husband is white. I generally like veg while he hates veg. I disliked the Chinese vegetables I grew up eating (those tough fibrous leafy ones) but when we visited my home country my husband loved them. Oh the irony.
From my convos with my white friends, their problem seems to be lack of garlic and other sharp aromatics. Youre supposed to add enough that people think youre joking... then add a little more.

Some of them don't seem particularly impressed.

Nothing wrong with boiled or raw vegetables. Depending a little on what it is, but that's perfectly fine for most. Like carrots, tomatoes, or peas. They're good raw, and can be boiled.


Nothing wrong with that.
I think it wasn't fresh green beans, it was probably canned green beans.

That is true. Despite disliking that type of vegetable, I love how garlicky the dishes are.

As an Asian American, I grew up confused about the stereotype that kids hate eating vegetables. I loved eating them. Then I spent the night at a (white) friend's house and their mom cooked dinner.

Plain boiled green beans. I'm not sure she even seasoned them. I understood the stereotype after that.
As a plain ol' white gal, I'm glad my parents actually put effort into their cooking. I grew up liking vegetables, but I can absolutely understand the hate for them if they're prepared poorly. I remember going to a friend's house and having dinner there, and not only were the green beans unseasoned, they were also overcooked. Absolutely disgusting. Green beans can be great if boiled for the right time and drizzled with olive oil and sprinkled with salt.

Canned green beans have absolutely no redeeming flavor of their own, as most of it gets leached out during the canning process. It is like boiling green beans until they are only just able to keep their shape. Straight out of a can, green beans aren't worth eating unless you have no other choice.

Eh, they still taste okay. At least the ones I've had. Though I'd go with frozen ones. Almost as good as fresh, but much easier to handle. Goes for almost any vegetable, really. No need for preparation except getting them cooked properly.

First, onions make plenty of things better, for one example, the hamburger and the hotdog are improved by putting onions on it. And second, if you have had nothing but properly seasoned food and then taste green beans out of a can that have been heated up, and I say heated up because they have already been cooked when they were put into the can.

My condolences, for you talk like you’ve never had properly-seasoned veg, and have grown accustomed to plain boiled veg. I pray that your life would be slightly more seasoned from now on 🙏

If anything, you sound like you've grown accustomed to too much seasoning so you can't appreciate anything without. Might want to try to widen your horizons. I've tasted properly seasoned vegetables, but that doesn't mean I have to stop enjoying plain vegetables. That just seems narrowminded to me.

Edit: Being condescending and getting mad at being schooled. Pathetic.
