It might be, but with the concept of the concubine lady and the mc it challenges it a bit, maybe the MC was nothing more than a consequence of him wanting a partner not connected to the convoluted nonsense of court politics or was intentional conceived to be a initial target/ stepping stone for the other sons to deem who to support as heir.
