"What's different about my last life?"
Well, it looks like you were an everyday nobody adult wage slave who took refuge in fantasy games.
And now you're a hot rich noble kid who can pull strings to hire literally the strongest person in the country to train you full time, dedicate yourself to doing exactly what you want to do, and you know the game's plot so there is no uncertainty about the future.
Hell, even just the "enough money and connections to do whatever you want, full time" would be enough to get anybody to "do their best" instead of giving up.
But that escapist wish fulfilment is why I read these. Same reason I buy the occasional lottery ticket.
