I don't recall the original hero showing a fucking lick of magical ability outside of "make sword/body stronger" so i'm curious as to what the hell his plan is here... I mean, sure, the setup seems to be something obvious like "they fall into the ravine together and have to learn to coexist to some degree in order to climb back out" but usually the setup'd be a bit more sensical than "one half of the pair chucks themselves off the ledge for no logical reason" lol. This isn't exactly a "grab them with one hand while holding on to the ledge for dear life" amount of distance, here- bro is several meters away horizontally and further still vertically by the time you'll reach him, dumbass! You're not even gonna be able to grab him and slow your fall by stabbing the cliff face or whatever, that shit's so sheer the first piece of terrain you'll be able to reach is the ground! Guess all we can depend on is the setting's original hero being able to pull off the type of asspull reserved only for a setting's original hero, huh? I don't intend to come off so negatively but all of this being caused by such a genuinely stupid sequence of events that's so much dumber than usual is just... wow, lol. I initially forgave them not finishing off an enemy because they don't instantly disappear and everyone involved is tired/injured, it makes sense that a bunch of kids might let their guards down when they really shouldn't, but then... the wolf doesn't lunge or bite & startle her over the edge or anything like that, it fucking hip checks her for some reason? Why? Just as a final "fuck you" from god? Not to mention Weiss was basically acting like he was fine moments ago in the previous chapter, I don't see how the realization he was just gonna keep falling would manage to arrive in anyone else's mind before seeing he's way too far away to catch, but... nah, go for it dude, make him need to find a way to stop both of you from splattering at the bottom instead of just himself lol, great thinking!
It just feels a bit more... contrived... than this series has been so far, you know? At least unless they're about to completely subvert my prediction & reintroduce the character who can fly to come rescue their asses before it happens, or something like that...
