I guess I missed the part where he explained how dark heal works to Allen, I also have my doubts as to why he would tell the guy he kind of hates about it

I appreciate that they gave dragons the boss-level fight treatment it deserves. There's too many stories that instantly defeat them which betrays what a dragon used to represent in stories: a powerful obstacle/catastrophe that is close to impossible to defeat if not outright omnipotent. I also liked that they utilized tactics and wit rather than believing in the power of friendship, nor that they got bailed out by reinforcements (at least on the first dragon, 99% chance reinforcements come on the 2nd.)

I mean 2 students being able to take out a dragon is still kind of weak
