You know, I've never given it much thought, but casually having a magic zone that completely nullifies pain and death is absurd. You'd think that they would use that type of thing to protect royalty and important individuals. Grand magicians should be utterly immortal.
true very true, but it would also probably always be 2 sided for both the caster and the attacker

I've always just assumed it takes forever to cast that kind of magic so it's just used to enchant certain areas. It is weird they wouldn't use it on the castle or a personal home though
At a minimum it should be used in places like royal bedrooms, the throne room, a dining spot in the garden, and banquet halls. Basically places where an assassination is most likely to take place.

Probably because it has conditions to be used.
Like if it requires both party to consent to the effect so a real assassin obviously wouldn't do it.
Or it requires too much mana to feasibly apply it 24/7 in larger areas.
Or if it's ancient magic that can't/hard to replicate elsewhere.

Yeah, I too. But would not be strange, if there is counter magic allowing to kill the unkillable row-row fight the power or dispell it.

Yes, such devices need to have really serious drawbacks, or they become huge plotholes. Something like a "we could keep our king and other VIPs in this field, but they would gradually turn into drooling idiots" level of drawback.

Wifey is just enjoying the show.

I'd like it if the hero and him became a power duo though. It's hard to get a read on him at the moment, but my ideal is probably if he's reincarnated too and they become rival-friends that don't end up enemies even if they're constantly in collision.
