Some of the megafauna creatures died because of the ending of the last glacial age, during the holocene/late quaternary extinction. But it is true that there is evidence humans also contributed to some of these extinctions during warmer periods in the glacial age when the human populations would grow and hamper the growth of some megafauna animal population.

So yes our ancestors may have helped wiping these creatures off the face of Earth.🤯

There is nothing wrong with how we have basically circumvented natural selection, since we are now living in the most peaceful and scientifically advanced period of humanity.
However, Ren's problem is that he is trying to force modern day's standards during a time where that does not work. He needs to at least take a step back and accept he is not in a time period where his views and morals can apply. We as a species have shaped the world where we can thrive with our views, and that is a good thing.
