Maybe Taika said something out of pocket, threw off Ao's train of thought, after which they might've been interrupted by Ao's boyfriend paying a visit, which could possibly have led to Ao starting on a new train of thought considering if taking Taika to school may make him less of a risk and, in a way, protect him, which, perhaps, is the most important thing to her right now. I don't know. Maybe some reason like that. We will just never know what happened.

He says "Let's turn ourselves in" not because he knows that "Killing is wrong and supposed go to the police", but to him, it'd make people feel better... according to him. I think it's still jumbled in his head.

I bet it's saved for later. I think he's being unreliable narrator is one of the mystery/thriller factor. Something to reminds us that "This is still a manga about murder"

I wonder if Paru sensei know about those XXL bully dogs I think they are called considering this chapter name have the word XXL in it, those dogs are pitiful, their heads are so big and their body are not sufficient enough to support it
Japan also have their own dog fighting breed that's not allowed in some countries, it's called Tosa Inu, I wonder why she didn't use that one instead

I feel uncomfortable reading this, like I felt uncomfortable reading Sanda and watching Beastars! But that's not necessarly a bad thing ! To me, the sense a society entirely moved by a scientific achievement, Paru did it twice now. It feels so realistic that make it fantastic. But the start of the series gave an ominous aura to this dog. I think this character a Louis that plays dumb, as if a Louis inside a Legosi.

Well, it seems Paru is well informed about those recurring dog assaults in America, that's why she chose the most notorious dog breed in the world, the pitbull, as one of the main character. To be honest, if my dog killed someone I would put it down. In real life, people don't let bears (or other predators) alive after they started to feed on humans.
