Is it strange that I find this one of the most endearing romance comics ever published? Almost zero drama.
Yeah I like the solid relationship which is better than Nana to Kaoru. I liked the contradictory desires of Minezaki's inner monologue.

I'm hoping that when the manga ends: they meet up again after college. Neither having found a replacement for each other. They then end up marrying each other and ruining each other with their desires.

Thanks @ShamelessScumbag for the translations!

This chapter was more psychological than physical. Minezaki finally shower her "true colors": she's needy and she want opposing things. And she wants Sawada to grant her those things. From what I got reading the chapter, Minezaki actually fully opened up to Sawada, feeling vulnerable, hence the tears. Sawada, on the other hand, felt emphaty for the girl, showing that there's a deep connection, that why he cried too.
As I said long ago, I feel this story started with the two getting close and being together and will end with them being together. They created a situation that can only work if it them, not just anybody else

Nana and Kaoru has its issues, especially early on and I really hated the “BDSM teacher/master” arc but honestly there aren’t many authors who can capture this kind of relationship well.

If you want to laugh read:

I just brought up Nana and Kaoru as how good we had it. The concept was interesting but they think being a Dom is = being a selfish asshole. They make him smug and cocky and suddenly the relationship just turned into a shitty “Mind Break” hentai because there isn’t any emotion behind it.

it’s rough, and it’s almost comical how bad it can be. And from the outside if you describe the situations they’re very similar. But when you read them you start to laugh. We’re only on chapter 5, and she’s basically just a dog who is forced to lick jizz off the floor

Agree Nana to Kaoru has issues. The story of them telling each other how they feel through BDSM was nice. The constant progress resets between the series was annoying. Or the fake out when Kaoru tells Nana his feelings but she has ear plugs in. The worst part was in the finale, Nana who's slowly been realizing how much effort Kaoru puts in to the prep for her as a sign of love, tells him she knew he loved her but still agreed to the sensei/teacher arc in Last Year. Like why the he'll would you do that to someone you love...

I've enjoyed the series that show that BDSM is a relational and about trust and love and not just the domination/submission such as this one.

Quickly read the linked story and that's going comically well off the rails.

I know exactly what you mean, especially with the spin offs (I kinda hated 'Black' and the reset). But as time goes on and I keep failing to find something better, the original series just sit in my mind almost a decade later.

The trust and love is so important to me, otherwise it's just kinda "eww"

Honestly, I think this handles a BDSM relationship well is because it treats it as a normal strong relationship that's simply expressed thorough BDSM. Other try to exoticize this kind of relationship, forgetting that they're young people just finding warmth in this world. Turning it into a laughable freak show rather than an actual relationship.

Ah yiss...just pump that smut straight into my veins, man...

Ahem. I mean, "I am fascinated by this depiction of human alienation from the self co-existing with the recovery of the concept of sexuality as more than simple genitalism to being a transcendent, even theological reaching out of an individual to greater connection."

I am kinda imaging the series will end with the main girl chained to a bed, battered and bruised, with an arm, a leg and several teeth missing with an aroused facial expression.

I'm a little easier on that other pair. After all, she's an inexperienced and utterly delusional M and he's a guy in love dropped into an S role with absolutely no clue about even vanilla stuff and they're in their first few days together. I'm hopeful there'll be decent growth between them.
