This is a good long while before even the medieval period, and such tactics were quite standard if you could manage them. The Geneva Conventions / Checklist (if you're Canadian like me) only came about in the early 20th century.By real-world standards, they committed several atrocities: both war crimes and crimes against humanity.
And yet you felt the need to point out that people were using tactics that are highly effective in the time period just because they're banned today.Huh. You don't say! Thanks for clarifying, as I had somehow missed that fact that this is an isekai and the entire premise of the story is that it's set in another world entirely.
Yes, I'm well aware that these are fictional characters doing fictional things, but their fictional actions are being written by an actual human being who's alive today. This story is also being read by real people with real experiences on the real Earth.
I just thought it was interesting to see the side aligned with the protagonist ("the good guys") doing deeply problematic stuff. So, from one real person to another, I think it's more than fine to note that the fictional actions in this fictional story would be considered atrocities by, as I noted, "real-world standards."
Do, there's no need to defend the fictional characters, because I'm not attacking or even criticizing them. How would I, anyway? They don't exist and never did.
You're missing the point in that the author is choosing to portray people as morally gray - good people can do bad things, obviously...…Murder, kidnapping, and slavery may be "highly effective," but they're still murder, kidnapping, and slavery. This story was written by a real person in our real world, so that real person made the real choice to have fictional "good guys" commit fictional acts that would be heinous in our real world. It's actually possible to make note of that fact without it being meant as criticism that anyone needs to defend.
Lol, couldn't refute what I said and refused to address my second point, painted a strawman, and ran away.Actually, you know what? This is not even remotely worth either my time or my emotional engagement. You win, kid. I'll stop my mean bullying of the poor little manga characters that I never even attacked in the first place, so you get to be the big hero or whatever it is you think you're doing here.
Bye!
