Edward is her son, and he's going to have some thought about her anyway.

is it really supposed to be translated as Emma Silk? Because it seemed like a surprise to the queen that Emma was the one who made it.

It was translated as Pales Silk earlier in the chapter, so they must have multiple names for it. To be fair "Emma Silk" might be advertised as a brand name or the name of a far away region where the silk magically comes from, since they have to justify the extreme price they're selling small amounts of it for.
