Since she mentioned no due to the confession coming out of nowhere I expected him to ask to be friends to positively build a relationship with her, not just jump straight to murder.
If he wants to make it like she never existed he needs to kill everyone who ever knew her, he doesn't need to kill everyone who ever saw her since they won't really 'know' her and could just be miss remembering ever seeing some high schooler like that but anyone who knew her must die, he will also need to erase her records in the system, only then will he have a chance of making it so she never existed.
