I do feel that it was a minor oversight from this chapter. It's partially based on one of the exclusive side stories of volume 1 on the LN, which I don't think has been translated, at least officially. For the part of Mia gaining noticeable weight would have been better if this chapter was set later in the story, like around volume 4 of the LN.

Iirc in the manga, the part Mia counting stuff in prison already appear in memory of Anne celebrating Mia's birthday late. But in the LN that info appear when Mia
