And I don't know but if I confess to someone and that person say she doesn't feel the same then 2 seconds later say "ok let's try dating and see where it goes" it would just feel like she is forcing herself which imo would be worse than just stay friend and see if the person grow some feelings then.

The weird manga meme of you must both be in love with each other to attempt dating is sooo weird. The whole point of dating is to see if your compatible with that person in a romantic sense, its so bizarre that if you don't have feelings for the other person immediately its taking advantage of them. Maybe its just a western vs japan thing but it seems so antiquated
