I'm not really understanding the leap from "my virginity has no societal value" to "I as a virgin have no value in this society." I get that forever alone types have low self esteem, but she seemed to rational to think she only had value back in her world because she was a virgin.

Probably for the same reason she second-guessed the idea of using the candy containers. Cola bottle looks a fair bit wider than those things.

Anyway, yeah, this is basically just commentary on male virginity taken from the perspective of this world, so it's about female virginity with the same societal pressures. In turn, this means males of this world probably value their virginity, even if there's no actual way to definitively know (yes, I realize others pointed out that the woman's hymen can be broken through wholly nonsexual means... but society still uses whether its intact or not as an indicator of female virginity, which at least makes more sense than male virginity which just means you stuck it into a woman's holes, which... how do you frakking prove that?).
